The teams will visit the work sites from 12.30pm to 3pm, the time during which outdoor work is banned till September 15. The ministry will also organise several activities during the holy month with the aim of interacting with workers in their residential compounds, countrywide. “The activities which are held by the Orientation department include an Iftar banquet in the labour compounds, 10 Iftar banquets countrywide accompanied by the distribution of copies of the Holy Quran and prayer mats to the workers”, said Director of the Labour Offices Department and Acting Director of the Orientation Department at the Ministry of Labour’s office in Abu Dhabi Qasim Mohammed Jamil. A number of the copies of the Holy Quran and prayer mats have been donated by the employees of the Ministry, he noted. He said nine sports competitions would be organised as well, including night football matches, volleyball, basketball and cricket matches in the playgrounds inside the labour compounds. “The mobile unit for the labour care will pay two visits during the holy month, to the far-flung areas which are home to a large number of workers, namely Al Ain and Fujairah, with the aim of interacting with them by holding entertainment events, and other cultural and awareness activities on the midday break rule”, he said.
